New Dawn Stable disbands
New Dawn Boxing Promotions boxing stable has disbanded following misunderstandings between management and boxers.
New Dawn managing director Micheal Chimaliza confirmed the development in an interview at the weekend.
He said the main reason has been lack of cooperation and trust within the stable, especially among boxers and the coach.
“It has been observed that most boxers did not trust the coach Baddista M’balaka who was assigned by the stable’s director and appointed some coaches behind the scenes without my consent.
“Kudakwache Banda opted to be trained by his brother, two other boxers Yobe Kamnyonya and Mudi Kuminga, recently appointed their own coach. It was all chaos, “ said Chimaliza.
“These are all signs of lack of trust among the team, and can easily affect their performance. Unfortunately, it is the Stable’s name that becomes tainted.”
Chimaliza said the decision to bypass the stable coach led to the humiliating loss of Kudakwache at the hands of Limbani Masamba.
He said New Dawn will now concentrate on organising boxing tournaments as it was before the stable part was established.
Among the boxers that were under New Dawn are Kudakwache, Yobe Kamnyonya, Mudi Kuminga, Yusuf Ali and Dickson Saidi.
In a separate interview, Kudakwache said he is yet to be communicated on the issue.
“It is news to me. I am yet to be briefed. We did not bypass the coach though. We just expanded the team, “ he said. n
